Tenant Selection & Fair Housing

 

The Foundation of Stable Living is committed to fair and equitable housing practices.

  • We comply with all applicable fair housing laws, including the Fair Housing Act

  • We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, familial status, gender identity, or other protected classes

  • Tenant selection criteria are transparent, consistent, and documented

  • Reasonable accommodations are provided for individuals with disabilities

Rent & Financial Policies

  • Rent levels are set in alignment with affordability guidelines and funding requirements

  • Rent collection procedures are clearly communicated to tenants

  • Late payment policies are fair and include options for hardship cases

  • All funds are managed with accountability and in accordance with nonprofit financial standard

Property Maintenance & Safety

Tenant Responsibilities

Tenants are expected to:

  • Respect neighbors and community standards

  • Report maintenance issues promptly

  • Comply with lease terms and community policies

Staff & Ethical Conduct

All staff and representatives must:

  • Act with integrity, transparency, and professionalism

  • Avoid conflicts of interest

  • Respect tenant privacy and confidentiality

  • Follow all organizational policies and legal requirements

Privacy & Data Protection

  • Tenant and applicant information is kept confidential

  • Personal data is collected only for legitimate business purposes

  • Data is stored securely and accessed only by authorized personnel

  • We comply with applicable data protection laws

Complaints & Grievance Procedures

We value feedback and provide clear channels for concerns.

  • Tenants may submit complaints in writing or through designated channels

  • All complaints are reviewed promptly and fairly

  • Retaliation against individuals who file complaints is strictly prohibited
